(12-27-97) 1997 AFC Wildcard - Jacksonville Jaguars @ Denver Broncos - "Revenge Tour Game #1" The Denver Broncos advanced to the AFC Divisional Playoff Round by literally running the Jacksonville Jaguars out of town as they piled up a club postseason-record 310 rushing yards en route to a 42-17 victory in front of 74,481 fans at Mile High Stadium. Denver set numerous team postseason records during the contest, including new standards for rushing attempts (49), total yards (511), points in a quarter (21; 4th qtr.), total points (42), first downs (28), rushing first downs (18) and third-down efficiency (75%), while the 237 yards allowed by the defense was the second-lowest total in Denver’s 21-game playoff history. The Broncos scored touchdowns on each of their first three possessions, racking up a 21-0 lead on 32 offensive plays, during which time the Jaguars ran only six. Terrell Davis capped Denver’s opening drive with a 2-yard touchdown run, and Rod Smith punctuated the next when he reeled in a 43-yard touchdown pass from John Elway. The lead was increased to 21-0 when Davis—who set franchise postseason records for rushing attempts (31), rushing yards (184) and longest run from scrimmage (59) before leaving in the third quarter with bruised ribs— tied the franchise records for rushing touchdowns and total touchdowns in a postseason game with his second of the day, this one from five yards out. The Jaguars answered by scoring the game’s next 17 points to make it a game, but the Broncos dominated from there as Derek Loville took over for the injured Davis and slashed his way to 103 yards (second-most by a Bronco in the postseason) on 11 attempts and scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns on runs of 25 and eight yards to tie the club touchdown record already achieved in the game by Davis. With Davis’ 184 rushing yards and Loville’s 103, Denver became just the third team in NFL postseason history to boast two 100-yard rushers in the same game. Additionally, Denver’s 40 minutes and 59 seconds of possession time and their 310 rushing yards both were the fifth-highest totals recorded in an NFL playoff game.

Baltimore erased a 17-point, first-quarter deficit.
2001
(12-03-01) WK 12 - Jacksonsonville Jaguars @ Green Bay Packers - When the clocked ticked away the final minutes, it was Brett Favre who stole the show. Favre rallied the Packers to a 28-21 comeback win over the Jaguars on ABC's Monday Night Football. Favre tossed three touchdown passes and sealed the win with 1:30 left in the game on his first rushing touchdown since Oct. 25, 1998 against the Ravens. Favre rolled left on a bootleg and sprinted for the front pylon to record the go-ahead score. The play of rookie Jamal Reynolds was not lost in the fray. On a game ending desperation drive engineered by Jaguars quarterback Mark Brunell, Reynolds sacked Brunell on fourth-and-12 also forcing a fumble that was recovered by Nate Wayne. While the ending pleased the Green Bay faithful, the team got off to a slow start. at one point in the third quarter the Packers were trailing by as many as 14 points. The Packers comeback win from down thirteen points or more on the road was the first since the infamous 'Walter Stanley Game' versus the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving Day in 1986. They had lost their last 38 road games when trailing by 13 or more points at any time during the game. Green Bay had two receivers with 100-yard games. Schroeder hauled in six passes for 106 yard and one touchdown. Antonio Freeman nabbed a 63-yard pass among his three catches for 104 yards. Green had 5 catches for 74 yards with one touchdown. Franks had three catches for eight yards including one score. Jacksonville's Jimmy Smith, after a trying week in which he faced charges of cocaine use, caught 8 passes for 116 yards. Teammate Keenan McCardell grabbed eight passes for 81 yards including a successful two-point conversion attempt. Neither team could muster out much on the ground. Green led all rushers with 31 yards on 17 attempts. Stacy Mack paced Jacksonville with 27 yards on 16 carries.

Jimmy Smith caught two touchdowns for Jacksonville. Favre turned over the ball four times and fell to 314 at home after Dec. 1, losing for just the second time in 40 cold-weather games at home. Nevertheless, the Packers became the ninth team in NFL history to reach the playoffs after a 1-4 start. They clinched before kickoff because Chicago, Dallas, Carolina and New York all lost in the run-of-the-mill NFC. The Packers fell into a tie with Minnesota atop the NFC North. They travel to Minnesota for a Christmas Eve matinee that wall likely decide the division. Jaguars safety Donovan Darius was ejected for a helmet- stripping, clothesline hit that sent wide receiver Robert Ferguson to the hospital for X-rays on his neck and head with 4:41 remaining.
