John F. Kennedy Assassination footage:

(11/22/63-11/25/63) JFK live TV assassination compilation set - took those many hours of NBC,CBS, and ABC news footage plus the local Dallas ABC WFAA-TV's coverage (plus other material), and edited chronology of the events as seen on live tv Nov.22-25, 1963.  For example, during that hour from the time of the first bulletins to the offical announcement that the president was in fact dead, when you view this coverage, it "jumps" from network to network in the context of what was the latest development in this major breaking news story. In other words, whatever was "the best" live broadcast at that particular moment, was used. In the case that, say, CBS and ABC both were broadcasting something wanted for use, both were used,  placing the one with the shorter running time first. In a few brief sequences, color  home movies were included (Zapruder) but the compliation is really about how the events were seen on live television in 1963 - 7.5 hrs of live original footage on 4 DVDs - best compilation by far out there.

WFAA-tv ABC Channel 8 original local Dallas/Fort Worth coverage of JFK from the weekend - "The Kennedy Tapes" - very comphrensive collection of original TV footage with limited interupptions! Morning breakfast footage with Kennedy's speech from Hotel the Kennedy's stayed at the night before assassination (45 minutes), Then goes to Dallas airport where they await arrival of Air Force One.  Shows all jets landing before President including Vice President Johnson and his greeting of well wishers that colleted at airport for his arrival as he makes his way to the convertable to start the parade.  Then shows footage at airport for awhile after President leaves (35 minutes), Commentator breaks into local show to announce JFK has been shot. Local commentator smokes from the stress while on the air. (4.5 hrs footage from Friday), picks up Saturday morning, goes through Oswald shooting Sunday with lots of footage and funeral Monday. Ends with appointment of Lyndon Johnson as President by congress and his speech to them. - Black and White - 14 Hours of footage on 7 DVDs (Quality 8.5)

1967 Warren Report on JFK - 4 DVDs

JFK: 3 Shots That Changed America - Just hours before his death, John F. Kennedy appeared before a crowd in Fort Worth, Texas to honor the freedoms of America in what would be his final speech. Though the Zapruder film, a silent, 8mm home movie of the presidential motorcade through Dealey Plaza, is the most complete visual recording of JFK s assassination, it is just part of a vast record of sights and sounds captured on camera that day. This four-hour special from The History Channel uses unique, rarely seen and heard footage to document the Kennedy assassination and the nearly 50 years of speculation and controversy that changed America. Home movies from eyewitnesses, Dallas police dispatch radio recordings, and raw news footage provide a shocking, unflinching look at the assassination of the president and the days that followed while examining the aftermath, and the enduring controversies, that emerged as succeeding generations of Americans struggled to comprehend the sudden murder of an unforgettable leader.  Shows original footage of first time Zapruder film was shown on TV on the late show with Geraldo Rivera in 1970. - 2 DVDs, 4 hours

JFK Confessions of an Assassin - In 1989 Joe West launched an investigation in the death of JFK.  After years of dead ends West gets a suprising tip from a former FBI agent that wanted to remain nameless leading West to James E. Files who was in an Illinois prison for shooting an Illinois police officer.  If you at all subscribe to the JFK conspiracy this is something you will want to see. Everyone has their own opinions and this does make you wonder.  Here is a link to a discussion on the truth of this story and although arguments discrediting Files do make his story seem fishy you also have to wonder why this caused more threats and more documents getting changed?  Draw your own conclusion and we will probably never know the full truth nor do we probably want to http://www.spartacus.schoolnet.co.uk/JFKfiles.htm - 1 DVD
