(12-31-88) 1988 AFC Divisional - Seattle Seahawks @ Cincinnati Bengals - Unbeaten at home in eight regular-season games, the AFC Central Division champion Bengals ran their Riverfront Stadium mark to 9-0 by rushing for a season-high 254 yards. They scored all 3 of their TDs in the first half and withstood a 13-point Seattle fourth quarter. The Seahawks pulled to within 21-13 on QB Dave Krieg’s 1-yard sneak with 6:05 to play, but K Norm Johnson’s missed PAT left the visitors still two scores short, as the 2-point conversion would not be added to NFL rules until 1994. The victory earned the Bengals their first trip to the AFC Championship game since 1981. Bengals rookie FB Ickey Woods rushed for 126 yards on 23 carries, and his 1-yard TD run midway through the second quarter gave Cincinnati a 21-0 halftime lead. FB Stanley Wilson added 45 rushing yards on 7 attempts with a pair of TDs, while HB James Brooks rushed for 72 yards on 13 attempts. Cincinnati’s defense held Seattle to just 18 yards rushing the entire game and only 49 total net yards in the first half. The Bengals stayed on the ground to win, getting only 7 completions from QB Boomer Esiason, the NFL’s top-rated quarterback and its consensus MVP in the regular season, and only one touch of the ball from WR Eddie Brown, who led the AFC in the regular season with 1273 receiving yards. - added December, 2007

Trailing 21-14 with just over two minutes remaining in the game, the Broncos offense trotted onto the field at their own 46-yard line. A few seconds later, they were lining up to kick the tying extra point. In what would stand as the quickest game-saving drive of his career, Elway hit Vance Johnson on a 54-yard bomb that evened the game at 21-21 with 2:19 left to play. The strike set the stage for the Broncos victory in overtime, which came on a 27-yard David Treadwell field goal. - Includes Halftime and commercials (Quality 8.5)

The Seahawks jumped to a 20-0 lead in their third straight victory, but had to survive a fourth-quarter comeback led by veteran reserve quarterback Blair Kiel, who was playing in his first game since Nov. 13,1988. Kiel, who replaced the struggling Anthony Dilweg late in the third quarter, hit Perry Kemp with a 13-yard touchdown pass with 5:35 to go. He then connected with Ed West on a 1-yard scoring pass two minutes later after Green Bay recovered an onside kick.

(09-29-96) Wk 5 - Green Bay Packers @ Seattle Seahawks - Robert Brooks would get knocked out of the game on the first play - It was Brett Favre at his MVP best and Rick Mirer at his worst Sunday. Favre threw four touchdown passes, one less than his career high, and Mirer threw a career-worst four interceptions and lost a fumble as the Green Bay Packers beat the Seattle Seahawks 31-10 Sunday. A pro-Green Bay crowd of 59,973, with hundreds of Packers fans wearing cheeseheads, provided the Kingdome's first sellout of the season and those fans saw what they wanted. The Packers, an NFC favorite, improved to 4-1 after a loss at Minnesota last Sunday. The Seahawks dropped to 1-4, including 0-3 at home. The five takeaways by the NFL's most opportunistic defense gave the Packers 22 for the season. Favre, the league's top-rated quarterback, converted Mirer's mistakes into 24 of Green Bay's points. He had touchdown passes of 13 and 4 yards to Antonio Freeman, 4 yards to Dorsey Levens and 10 yards to Keith Jackson. He was 20-for-34 for 209 yards with no interceptions. Mirer was 10-for-30 for 156 yards with no touchdowns. Chris Warren of the Seahawks had his first 100-yard rushing game and accounted for their only touchdown on a 37-yard run. Warren, who had 129 yards in Seattle's first four games, had 103 yards on 18 carries. Favre has 16 touchdown passes and two interceptions for the season. Favre would be NFC 'Offensive Player of the Month' for September, passing for 16 TDs in leading the Packers to a 4-1 record during the month. Reggie White and Santana Dotson would both get interceptions in this game. - (Quality 9)

1999
(09-26-99) WK 3 - Seattle Seahawks @ Pittsburgh Steelers
(11-01-99) Wk 8 - Seattle Seahawks @ Green Bay Packers - Favre was incredible pumped for this game and all over the place. Although his first TD pass is an incredible rocket that looks like it passes right throw a Seahawk defender. William Henderson also has an impressive catch and run as he knocks a Seahawk silly that should have tackled him in the backfield and then Henderson hurdles that defender and bulls over another before getting the first down. Otherwise not much good to say for the Packers. During his seven years in Green Bay, Mike Holmgren helped make Brett Favre a superstar. In Holmgren's first trip back, his Seattle defense made Favre took less than ordinary. Led by Cortez Kennedy and Shawn Springs, Holmgren's Seahawks forced seven turnovers, six by Favre, as they beat the Packers, 27-7, Monday night. Jon Kitna chipped in with touchdown passes to Derrick Mayes and Shawn Dawkins, Ricky Watters ran for 125 yards in 30 carries, and Springs returned a blocked punt 61 yards for a touchdown. Green Bay, which lost for only the second time in 35 games at Lambeau Field, also contributed to its own demise with 10 penalties for 103 yards. That included two personal fouls on one play against offensive tackle Earl Dotson, who was so frustrated trying to block Kennedy that he got thrown out of the game for shoving him twice. But the defense did the real work for Seattle, which has won five of its last six and moved into a tie with Kansas City for the lead in the AFC West. Favre had an abysmal game. He finished 14-of-35 for l80 yards and threw four interceptions for just the second time in his career. - (Quality 8.5)

(10-05-03) Wk 5 - Seattle Seahawks @ Green Bay Packers - Packers finally get some revenge against Mike Holmgram and take down his 4-0 team - Brett Favre guided Green Bay on five consecutive touchdown drives to help the Packers beat their former coach, Mike Holmgren. That was sweet revenge for Favre, who self-destructed in Holmgren's first return to Lambeau Field, when he committed six turnovers' in a 27-7 loss to the Seahawks in 1999. Holmgren helped resurrect the Packers from 1992-98, winning one Super Bowl and two NFC crowns. This time, Favre completed 19 of 25 passes for 185 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions for Green Bay. Ahman Green ran 27 times for 118 yards and two touchdowns against his former team. Shaun Alexander gained 102 yards on 20 carries for Seattle. Josh Brown's 58-yard field goal on the final play of the first half was the longest ever kicked by any Packers opponent in Green Bay's 83-year NFL annals. The longest previous FG successes against Green Bay were a pair of a 56-yarders – by Ali Haji-Sheikh of the New York Giants at Giants Stadium Sept. 26, 1983, and by John Kasay of Carolina in Ericsson Stadium at Charlotte, Sept. 27, 1998.

(01-04-04) 2003 NFC Wildcard - Seattle Seahawks @ Green Bay Packers - Classic playoff game that goes into OT where ex-Packer Matt Hasselback, during the OT coin flip, says "We want the ball and we are going to score." Al Harris never got a chance for a Lambeau Leap. By the time he thought about it, he was buried under an avalanche of teammates. His long dreadlocks flapping outside his helmet in the frigid wind, Harris streamed down the sideline with a 52-yard interception return in overtime. That touchdown lifted the Green Bay Packers past the Seattle Seahawks 33-27 in a first-round NFC playoff game. The cornerback picked off Matt Hasselbeck's throw and headed to the end zone -- directly past former Packers coach Mike Holmgren. Only Hasselbeck had a chance to tackle Harris, but he couldn't get there. Harris scored the first defensive touchdown to win an overtime playoff game in NFL history. Once he got to the end zone, his teammates tackled him, setting off a wild celebration, including Harris slapping hands with fans in the stands on a 100-yard victory lap. His heroics sent the Packers to Philadelphia next week, while the Seahawks go home knowing they let a prime opportunity slip away. Seattle tied it with 51 seconds remaining on Shaun Alexander's third 1-yard touchdown run. Then Packers kicker Ryan Longwell was short on a 47-yard field goal attempt as regulation time expired. Seattle won the coin toss, and Hasselbeck told the official, "We want the ball, and we're going to score." The Seahawks got the ball, but punted. After Seattle got the ball back, it was Harris, a six-year veteran in his first season with the Packers, who scored on the game's only turnover. Hasselbeck had a pretty good day, throwing for 305 yards. He also made the one critical mistake after recognizing a Packers blitz. Favre, as usual, thrived in the cold: 20 degrees, with a wind chill of 7. He set a record by throwing for a touchdown in a 14th straight playoff game and rallied the Packers to a 27-20 lead. Then Hasselbeck, once Favre's backup in Green Bay, guided a 67-yard drive to tie it. But the Packers gutted out the victory one year after losing a home playoff game for the first time ever, to Atlanta. - have FOX pre-game shoe on seperate disc

But the Cowboys score two touchdowns in the final two minutes and survive Hail Mary pass in their end zone on the last play of the game to pull off amazing, and somewhat controversial, 43-39 victory on the road. (11-27-06) Wk 13 - Green Bay Packers @ Seattle Seahawks - It took a blast of rare Seattle snow to lift Shaun Alexander out of his season-long hibernation. Alexander ran for a season-high 201 yards Monday night to lead the Seahawks over the Packers on a surprisingly snowy night in Seattle. With the white stuff falling for the first time at a Seattle home game, it seemed like a more natural setting for the Packers. Favre, who fell to 41-9 when the temperature is 34 degrees or less, was making his 252nd straight start and possibly his final appearance on the Monday-night stage he has lit up over his shining career. Instead, the evening belonged to Alexander, who skated across this new frozen tundra for his first 100-yard game of the season and showed that his broken left foot is feeling much better. The Seahawks, embarrassed last week in a 20-14 loss at San Francisco, took a two-game lead in the NFL West. They overcame four first-half turnovers by Matt Hasselbeck including one returned for a touchdown by Abdul Hodge thanks to four field goals off the snowy turf by Josh Brown. Alexander said he could relate to his quarterback's struggles in his first game back from a knee injury. Trailing 21-12 early in the second half, Seattle began its comeback behind Alexander, who finished the night with a career-high 40 rushes that also set a franchise record. The reigning MVP, who posted the second 200-yard game of his career, also bested his previous high of 35 carries. He ran for 42 yards on four carries to drive Seattle to its go-ahead score early in the fourth quarter. Hasselbeck ended that drive with a perfectly lofted, 4-yard touchdown pass onto the hands of Darrell Jackson for a 27-21 lead. After Green Bay cut the deficit to three, Alexander got the Seahawks close to the end zone, then Hasselbeck made the best throw of his up-and-down night a 3-yard touchdown to Jerramy Stevens in the back of the end zone to make it 34-24 and essentially put the game away. Hasselback, returning after a four-week layoff with a sprained right knee, finished 17-for-36 for 157 yards and three touchdowns to offset his three interceptions. - added September, 2007

(01-06-07) 2006 NFC Wildcard - Dallas Cowboys @ Seattle Seahawks - "The Bobble" - Great game and amazing ending - Dallas Cowboys' quarterback Tony Romo, a four-year veteran who earned the starting job and made the Pro Bowl for the first time in his career during the regular season, botched the hold on a potential game-winning field goal with 1:19 left in the fourth quarter, allowing the Seattle Seahawks to escape with a victory. It was all set up when Seattle got the ball in the 4th when a pass interference penalty on Dallas' Terence Newman gave them a first down on the 1-yard line. But Seattle failed to get into the end zone with their next four plays, turning the ball over on downs at the 2-yard line. On the first Dallas play after the turnover, Cowboys receiver Terry Glenn caught a short pass, but then lost a fumble. The ball was recovered by Seattle in the end zone for a touchdown, but after a Dallas challenge the referee ruled the play a safety, cutting the score to 20-15 and giving the ball back to the Seahawks at around the 50-yard line after the ensuing free kick and return. Four plays later, Hasselbeck's 37-yard touchdown pass to Stevens gave Seattle a 21-20 lead. The Seahawks attempted a two-point conversion to give themselves a three-point lead, but Hasselbeck's pass failed. Dallas took the ensuing kickoff and marched down to the Seahawks' 8-yard line. On third down, Witten caught a pass that was initially ruled a first down on the 1-yard line, but after an instant-replay challenge, officials ruled Witten had been tackled at the 2-yard line, bringing up fourth down. With 1:19 left in the game, Gramatica lined up to attempt a 19-yard field goal, but Romo dropped the ball while setting it up for a hold. Romo picked up the fumble and tried to run with it for either a touchdown or a first down, but he was tackled at the 2-yard line by safety Jordan Babineaux, turning the ball over on downs and allowing Seattle to run the clock down to eight seconds before punting back to Dallas. On the last play of the game, Romo's Hail Mary pass fell incomplete in the end zone. - added March, 2007

(01-12-08) 2007 NFC Divisional - Seattle Seahawks @ Green Bay Packers - Snow Game! The field was clear before the game, but it didn't take long before Lambeau became a winter wonderland. Green Bay gained 400 yards of offense and scored touchdowns on six consecutive drives to defeat the Seahawks and advance to their first NFC Championship Game in 10 years. Meanwhile the Packers' defense limited Seattle to just 200 total yards, with only 28 yards on the ground. Packers running back Ryan Grant, who fumbled twice in the first quarter, ended up with a franchise playoff record 201 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns. On the ensuing Green Bay drive (14 plays covering 70 yards) Favre's most memorable effort was a crazy toss to Donald Lee right before halftime. On third-and-8, Favre somehow spun free from the Seahawks' clutches and stumbled ahead in the snow. Ever the gambler, he flipped a wobbly, underhanded pass that he had no business trying, let alone completing. "That's right!" Favre shouted. On the next play, Grant followed with a 3-yard burst and it was 28-17 Packers a scant 26 seconds before the break. "Just gave him the old, usual, underhand toss. We practice that play all the time," Favre cracked. "Boy, what a backbreaker." Favre completed 18 of 23 passes for 173 yards and three touchdowns, good for a 137.6-passer rating, a personal playoff best. Favre became the second quarterback in NFL history to throw for 5,000 career postseason yards when he completed an 11-yard pass to Greg Jennings in the second quarter. Atari Bigby would have a couple of monster hits in this game; one causing a fumble that the Packers used to take the lead in the game. - added January, 2008

(10-12-08) Wk 6 - Seattle Seahawks @ Green Bay Packers - Aaron Rodgers turned his sprained shoulder into a lesson for any Packers who may still be missing his predecessor. The first-year starter is showing grit and leadership that would make Brett Favre proud. Rodgers again ignored the shoulder injury and a crunching early hit to run for a tying touchdown, then threw two scoring passes in the second half to perhaps save Green Bay's season in a 27-17 victory over the sinking Seahawks. Rodgers was 21-for-30 with 208 yards. The Packers stopped a three-game losing streak and are suddenly tied for the NFC North lead. The stunned Seahawks paid for having to start No. 3 quarterback Charlie Frye, because Matt Hasselbeck was inactive - he will be getting his bruised knee reevaluated on Monday - and backup Seneca Wallace was out with a calf injury. Seattle looked inept while gaining just 177 yards on offense and skidding to 1-4, the equal of the Rams at the bottom of the NFC West that Seattle has ruled the last four seasons. Frye, starting for the first time since the 2007 opener when he was with Cleveland, gave Seattle a 10-3 lead midway through the second quarter with his first touchdown pass since Dec. 3, 2006. It was set up by Julian Peterson sacking Rodgers and forcing a fumble Bernard recovered at the Packers 32. After T.J. Duckett ran 9 yards on fourth-and-1, Frye pulled up on a bootleg with linebacker Brady Poppinga in his face and threw 6 yards to John Carlson for the rookie's first career TD reception. Rodgers and the Packers seemed to awaken on the first play of the ensuing drive. Seattle's Pro Bowl defensive end Patrick Kerney leveled the ailing quarterback with a crashing shoulder hit to the chest after he threw an incomplete pass. He went 3-for-3 converting third-down passes on the drive that ended with his tying, 1-yard sneak for a touchdown. In the third quarter, with safety Brian Russell in his face, Rodgers found Greg Jennings for a 45-yard touchdown. That gave the Packers their first lead, 17-10. Jennings beat Pro Bowl cornerback Marcus Trufant for his fourth touchdown of the season. While the Seahawks sputtered trying to throw with Frye, the Packers took command with a 15-play, 84-yard march. Rodgers was also 3-for-3 converting third-down passes on the drive, which ended with a 1-yard touchdown throw to John Kuhn. - Includes Halftime and commercials (Quality 9)

(12-27-09) Wk 16 - Seattle Seahawks @ Green Bay Packers - Brandon Jackson scored three touchdowns and Ryan Grant rushed for two more, as Green Bay rolled to a 48-10 thrashing of Seattle and got some help to clinch a postseason berth. The lopsided win coupled with the Giants' lopsided loss to Carolina has guaranteed the Packers one of the two wild card spots in the NFC. Grant rushed for 97 yards on 16 carries while Aaron Rodgers threw for 237 yards with a touchdown to lead the balanced attack. Greg Jennings ended with 111 yards on four grabs, and Atari Bigby had two of the defense's four interceptions of Matt Hasselbeck, who ended with 198 yards on 19-of-37 throws. John Carlson caught a TD pass from Hasselbeck, as the Seahawks (5-10) dropped their third straight game, coming by a combined 106-24 differential. - Includes FOX Pregame, halftime, FOX Postgame, Monday QB postgame, Pack Attack (Jermichael Finley guest), Mike McCarthy Show (Brandon Jackson guest), Inside Lambeau (Brandon Jackson guest), Inside the Huddle w/ Donald Driver (B.J. Greg Jennings caught one pass for 56 yards, while Jermichael Finley had four receptions for 48 yards and a touchdown in the win. Matt Hasselbeck threw for 127 yards and a score on 11-of-15 passes for Seattle, which has split its first two preseason games. Charlie Whitehurt came on in relief and completed 9-of-20 passes with one touchdown and two interceptions. Leon Washington ran for 19 yards and a touchdown, while T.J. Houshmandzadeh had four catches for 60 yards in defeat. Deion Branch added an 11-yard touchdown catch for the Seahawks.
